Infinite Loop
urban electroacoustics - 2021
Proposed by the Berlin magazine Flâneur and led by Anabelle Lacroix and Justinien Tribillon, the Infinite Loop project explored in 2021 the role of the Boulevard Périphérique in the Parisian imagination as a noisemaker, with its vibratory force, its different speeds, its loops, and its unbridled energy, which is also the subversive energy of the periphery itself. As an infrastructure of speed and traffic jams, the ring road is like a questionable metaphor for modernity and progress.
The residency brought together Méryll Ampe, Nicolas Montgermont, Nadine Schütz, and myself. We roamed the ring road to make recordings, which we sometimes shared, before an evening of performances at La Station (Aubervilliers) where this peripheral composition entitled Outer Circle was performed.
We also contributed in various ways to the magazine's issue dedicated to the Paris périphérique. I submitted an article entitled Infinite Flow/Infinite Friction.
